The SHOEMAKER CHAIR by Form & Refine is a Danish classic from 1936 that adapts to any body shape and is versatile. The seat with the anatomically shaped curves consists of a large, solid piece of wood and is supported by the three chair legs. The T-connection between the legs contributes to the stability. Due to the naturally different wood grain, each chair is unique and brings Nordic aesthetics to the dining room or living room.After the first production of the chair in 1936, the Holzdrechsler Werner family tweaked the shape of the Shoemaker chair over three generations, improved the design and production and made the chair what it is today: a true, archetypal classic. To this day, each one is produced in the family's own wood turnery, Gislev Drejerforretning, on the Danish island of Funen.

A true classic that has been made in Denmark since 1936 - where it is still produced today by Form & Refine's local joinery.

The seat is made from one large, solid piece of wood and due to the different grains, each Shoemaker Chair™ is absolutely unique. Together with the turned legs and the stabilising T-joint, the result is a harmonious and aesthetic piece of furniture with strong references to the history and experimentation of Nordic design.

The construction may look simple, but it is technically difficult to master. The solid piece of wood has to be carved very precisely to ensure the highest level of comfort.

At the end of the process, each model is finished by hand before being treated with stain or oil in a three-step process.
