The SHOEMAKER CHAIR by Form & Refine is a Danish classic from 1936 that adapts to every body shape and is versatile. The seat with the anatomically shaped curves consists of a large, solid piece of wood and is supported by the three chair legs. The T-connection between the legs contributes to the stability. Due to the naturally different wood grain, each chair is unique and brings Nordic aesthetics to the dining room or living room.

After the first production of the chair in 1936, the Werner family of wood turners spent three generations refining the shape of the shoemaker's chair, improving the design and production and making the chair what it is today: a true, archetypal classic. To this day, each one is produced in the family-owned wood turnery Gislev Drejerforretning on the Danish island of Funen.

Die abgerundeten Stuhlbeine ergeben zusammen mit der stabilisierenden T-Verbindung ein harmonisches und ästhetisches Möbelstück mit starken Bezügen zum nordischen Design. Die Konstruktion erscheint ziemlich einfach, ist jedoch eine handwerkliche Herausforderung. Das Holzstück für die Sitzfläche muss sehr exakt geschnitten werden, um höchsten Komfort zu erzielen. Am Ende des Produktionsprozesses wird jeder Stuhl noch von Hand bearbeitet, bevor er den dreistufigen Prozess des Beizens oder Ölens durchläuft.
