A TASTE OF JAPAN WITH KAZUSHIGE MIYAKE The art of ikebana – the gentle and mindful arranging of flowers in sculptural bouquets – is an integral part of Japanese culture, and is therefore the obvious source of inspiration for the new MIYABI vase, designed by Kazushige Miyake. MIYABI, the name of the new Sculptural vase, would be directly translated to “elegance”, ”grace” or “refinement”. What could be better name for an Ikebana Vase. Please note the care instructions. All vases have different openings, from the traditional narrow vase openings to double openings and deeply carved openings. The Sumo collection addresses the contrast between familiar vase shapes and the addition of artistic, more abstract ideas and details that challenge our individual perception of the shape of a vase. Kabin is a series of vases inspired by the classical, simple forms found in Japanese craftsmanship. The large table vases offer the same stability and complexity as traditional Japanese tea bowls, and their oval-shaped bodies rest on top of a small foot or pedestal, adding refinement to the classic form. The Kabin series is a love story between Japanese and Scandinavian craftsmanship, resulting in this minimalist collection of vases in four different sizes.
