Oku is an interpretation of the Japanese word for oak "Ōku". Oku refers to the essence of the design - oak. By experimenting with the balance between lightness and heaviness, which makes it appear wafer-thin from one angle and solid from others, the design emphasises the natural material. Oku's tabletop is made of oak veneer with rounded edges that add a refined detail to the large surface.
