Paper folding is an ancient Japanese art form called origami, and the vase series that bears its name is inspired by this meticulous and organic tradition. Imitating two pieces of paper folded on top of each other, the vases are a refined and playful physical celebration of this technique. Soft meets sharp. Just as with paper origami, it takes patience to really master the method, and so it took several attempts to achieve the vases' current low falling round shape and thin opening.
