The traditional Japanese artform origami was the creative point of departure for German designer Robin Scholtysik when he designed his new side table for blomus – named Oru. Based on the precise folding of intricate figures out of paper, the table consists of thin, powder-coated, steel sheets which – when put together – create a three-dimensional shape, while cut-out joints reveal important little details, such as opposing radii and delicately curved interfaces. The construction of Oru is just as smart and simple as its design. The table can be assembled without any tools, and its modest weight adds to its portability, meaning it can fit into almost any corner of the modern home – be it as an up-to-date night stand or a simple coffee table by the sofa. The Oru side table comes in two different sizes and in both an all-black and a Burnt Metal version.

The set consists of sturdy, white powder-coated steel with a matt, slightly roughened surface. The tables were individually manufactured in a traditional manufacturing process and are intended exclusively for indoor use. For gentle cleaning, please use a damp cloth. The strong and proud table is inspired by the bare, structural elements of Brutalist architecture, which celebrates columns and avoids an attitude towards too much detail. The chunky fibre concrete legs allow for a large gap between the edge of the table and the legs to emphasise the experience of a massive, floating tabletop. The stool is a classic. Made of old German oak, it captivates with its handcrafted prong joints and finds its place in any ambience. Handcrafting may not make our furniture as perfect as an industrially manufactured product, but it makes it many times more valuable, exclusive and stable in value. GERMAN OLD OAKFor our furniture - especially our tables, benches and stools - we use only high-quality oak from domestic production. German oak grows to a height of between 20 and 30 metres, reaches a diameter of up to three metres and is therefore wonderfully suitable for large tops. In terms of colour, the light to dark brown heartwood dominates and conveys the typical oak wood image. With its unconventional charisma, it adapts to any style and looks particularly beautiful as a solitaire. Oak is very robust, versatile to work with and today one of our most valuable woods, not only for furniture construction. In addition, oak is very weatherproof and resistant. Our JOON oak dining table, for example, can also be used as a patio table in the open air. Oak wood belongs to the medium-weight woods, is very strong and does not warp much, and offers a wonderful surface, which we oil or oilburner (burn off) depending on the look and intended use. Finish options (surface): White or black oiled, or black cured (burnt oak).

The Vipp coffee table is a versatile table for the living room. Also available in a larger version, this table features a three-legged frame of black powder-coated aluminium and a tabletop of either polished marble or dark oak. The visual expression of marble and limestone tells the tale of millions of years of natural processing. Both type of stone harbor impressions left by fossils and other organic matter, making each stone unique with a wide range of shades and veining. Available in two sizes with a variety of complementary tops in either marble or oak, the Vipp coffee table is suitable for a wide range of settings in private as well as public spaces. The small version of the Vipp coffee table is suitable for compact spaces and corner areas. Display it in solitary or pair it with a larger sized table for a complete coffee table composition.
