Inspired by the characteristic shapes of the Medusa, the Medusa Ceramics emphasises the soft oval shapes and details of the jellyfish.Elegantly sculpted, each Medusa is lifted slightly above the floor by a number of small conic shaped legs, reminiscing the tentacles of the jellyfish. Medusa has a very elegant and simple expression and can easily be placed in any interior scheme as a sculptural object or vase for flowers or decorations.Medusa comes in both vases and trays and is made from ceramic. The surface is hand glazed in order to achieve the unique surface texture. The colours may vary slightly, due to that it is a handmade product. Paper folding is an ancient Japanese art form called origami, and the vase series that bears its name is inspired by this meticulous and organic tradition. Imitating two pieces of paper folded on top of each other, the vases are a refined and playful physical celebration of this technique. Soft meets sharp. Just as with paper origami, it takes patience to really master the method, and so it took several attempts to achieve the vases' current low falling round shape and thin opening.
