The elegance and simplicity of the perfect round and square lines was evident in the architecture of the New Formalism that flourished in the 1960s, and also in the collection called Formalism.  The collection was developed in close collaboration with Indian marble suppliers to find the most homogeneous stones possible with little to no contrast, resulting in an even surface in faded earth tones that eventually takes on a matt finish.  Formalism consists of a bowl and a tray.

Designed by Kristian Sofus Hansen & Tommy Hyldahl. Made of marble.

101 COPENHAGEN // KABIN
VASE | FAT | BONE WHITE
Kabin is a series of vases inspired by the classical, simple forms found in Japanese craftsmanship. The large table vases offer the same stability and complexity as traditional Japanese tea bowls, and their oval-shaped bodies rest on top of a small foot or pedestal, adding refinement to the classic form. The Kabin series is a love story between Japanese and Scandinavian craftsmanship, resulting in this minimalist collection of vases in four different sizes. As it is a hand glazed natural product, the colours may vary slightly and as it is not 100% waterproof, a bag for fresh flowers is included. Designed by Nicolaj Nøddesbo & Tommy Hyldahl.

101 COPENHAGEN // OKA
TRAY
The Oka tray is inspired by traditional Japanese serving trays, often produced in wood or bamboo. Transforming this well-known form into a new material, in this case solid fiber concrete, a certain heaviness and a refined texture of the surface is added, without compromising on the recognizable shape.  With its sculptural and architectural shape, it can be used for various decoration purposes or standalone as a piece of art in its own right. As it is a natural product, the colours may vary a little. Not 100% waterproof. Designed by Kristian Sofus Hansen & Tommy Hyldahl.
