Das Design von 101 Copenhagen ist fest in der skandinavischen Erde verwurzelt und wird von der japanischen minimalistischen Ästhetik genährt. Das Zusammentreffen zwischen dem Norden und dem Osten ist in den ganzheitlichen Kollektionen von 101 Copenhagen spürbar. Der Designansatz ist dynamisch und geprägt von der Freiheit des Ausdrucks - es werden einzigartige und zeitlose Stücke geschaffen, ohne dabei auf Verspieltheit und Individualität zu verzichten.

DIE DESIGNER

Die beiden Hauptdesigner von 101 Copenhagen, Tommy Hyldahl und Kristian Sofus Hansen, zeichnen sich durch Liebe zum Detail und einen gemeinsamen Sinn für Ästhetik aus. Ihre Erfahrungen aus der Modeindustrie, der Königlich Dänischen Akademie der Schönen Künste und ihren Reisen nach Japan verbinden sich in den Kollektionen zu einer Erzählung von minimalistischem, skulpturalem und konzeptionellem Design.

Bei der Übertragung und Transformation der einfachen japanischen Inspiration in einen skandinavischen Kontext geht es um die Würdigung von Qualität, Erbe und Materialität, wobei niemals Kompromisse bei Form und Funktion eingegangen werden. Der dritte Designer, Nicolaj Nøddesbo, ist ausgebildeter Architekt und bringt sein Wissen über innovative Lichtlösungen und zeitlose Neuheiten in die 101 Copenhagen Kollektionen ein. 101 Copenhagen ist eine kuratierte Auswahl an taktilen, kühnen Objekten, die sich von der Masse abheben und sich zu einem Ganzen zusammenfügen.

Inspired by floral forms, Bloom emphasises soft and organic shapes in a collection of sculptural ceramic vases and bowls. Each Bloom ceramic is elegantly shaped and features multiple petals that merge into one another, reminiscent of the different stages of a flower from closed to open. Bloom is an interpretation of the floral-inspired design of the 70s. However, with a raw and clear expression. The gently curved surface is contrasted by a strong basic geometry and enriched by a beautiful play of shadows in the depths of the surface. Thanks to their expressive design, the Bloom vases change their appearance throughout the day depending on the light and shade conditions. Bloom is available as a vase as well as a bowl and is made of ceramic or fibre concrete. The surface is glazed by hand to obtain the unique surface structure. Inspired by architectural façade details, each podium has a carved relief on two opposite sides that creates a beautiful play of shadows that changes throughout the day depending on the light. The podium can be placed horizontally or vertically, facing a wall or free standing in the room as it has no back. The podium is available in three different heights and can also be used as a side or coffee table. Designed by Kristian Sofus Hansen & Tommy Hyldahl.
